From the Sagara clan’s entrance into the region in the Kamakura period (late 12th century) to midway through the Muromachi period (14th to 16th cenutries), the Taragi-based Sagara family were the ones who ruled their clan. Many historical remains can be found in Taragi, such as the sites of buildings and irrigation canals.
