The ruins of the castle that served as the residence of the Sagara clan for 700 years, spanning many generations. The Kuma and Mune Rivers served as natural outer moats – a common construction for mountain castles in Japan’s feudal era. In 2006, it was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Castles.
