These unique graves express the unique shochu culture of the Hitoyoshi Kuma region. They may be engraved with a posthumous name that reminds others of an individual who loved alcohol in life, or the gravestone itself may shaped like a shochu bottle or cup. At least ten different graves have been discovered in the region.
