Usudaiko is a local performance started by the Sagara clan to encourage military might and raise morale. Handed down orally by the people of the domain, the odori continues to be performed in every area of the Hitoyoshi Kuma region to this day. Taiko drums and gongs are struck in alternating succession while the performers dance wildly.
